Celebrating its 28th year, this annual festival is a combination of free entertainment on two stages, a family friendly area with a children’s stage, rides for kids under twelve, 40 booths of interactive educational fun that encourages stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay, 100 Arts & Crafts booths, 35 food vendors, and one of the longest fireworks displays in the area.

Over 700,000 lights illuminate the beauty of Newport News Park’s forests, fields, and ponds in this, Virginia’s longest running drive-through light event. View multi-colored snowflakes, leaping reindeer, whimsical toys, forest animals, elegant swans and scenes from Virginia’s past portrayed in a kaleidoscope of dazzling color. Over 200 displays, including 70 animated displays, are spread throughout a dozen theme areas, including “Winter Wonderland,” “Forest Friends,” “Battle of the Ironclads,” “Santa’s Enchanted Kingdom” and “Old Man Winter.” $10 per car; $50 per bus.

The Coleman Garden Nursery Yuletide displays began in the mid-1960s when owner, A. J. “Junie” Lancaster was inspired by the animated Disneyland exhibit at the New York World’s Fair. Coleman’s first figure was a sleeping Santa. Over the years, several hundred figures were added. Visit the Courthouse Galleries and share the holiday attraction with family and friends.
